What is the centre of your social media strategy?
One of the most important elements of any marketing strategy is the core – so where are you ultimately driving your audience? Most people would suggest that their website is positioned at the core. This is a solid plan – but you need to give people a reason to come back.
Most websites are static – unchanging. They provide basic information, contact info… but what would keep people coming back? How can you get your market engaged? What is in it for them?
- Insight – leverage your opinion and expertise, tell them what you think about things
- Information – share information that is important to you with your market, give them links to other smart people and ideas
- Ideas – tell them yours, and help other people to come up with their own
By integrating your website into a blog (in whole or in part), you give your market a reason to come back. By providing insight, information and ideas, you give people a reason to return. This is engagement marketing.
The best and easiest way to do that is with a blog. So over to you… if you are not blogging – why not?
